If you haven’t heard Patriots CB Ellis Hobbs has a broken wrist. However, Hobbs is very optimistic about coming back.
“The situation, I feel like, is day-to-day, I ain’t going to say it again. If I can play, I can play. If I can’t, I can’t.”
Hobbs may think he’s day-to-day but realistically he won’t be playing this week against the Dolphins and he might not play against the Buffalo Bills on October 22nd (after the bye) either. While Hobbs is a very solid player on this team, Chad Scott played very well against the Bengals last week and he’ll look to fill the role that Hobbs left behind.
The Patriots didn’t waste time before bringing in another CB to give the Pats some depth in the secondary, the Patriots have signed Chidi Iwouma. In other news, they released WR Jonathan Smith and QB J.T Sullivan. (According to the Boston Globe)
Here is one last thing to chew on, the Green Bay Packers released former first round pick (2004, pick 25) Ahmad Carroll. He could help out at CB, Carroll has had an up and down NFL career.
