Bam Childress 5-foot-10, 185 pound wide receiver was released Sunday. The Patriots signed Childress in 2005 and was assigned to the practice squad for 16 weeks, until Dec 05 he was assigned to the active roster and played the finale regular season game against the Dolphins.
Also the Patriots added 5-foot-10, 195 pound wide receiver Jonathan Smith off of waivers. Smith, is entering his third NFL season, but was waived by the Bills on Saturday.
I am not to surprised about this, as they released a receiver (Bam Childress) and then added another(Jonathan Smith). I think that clearly Smith is a all round better player then Childress and also a fairly good at punt return. Been some good additions to the wide receiver spot this weekend.
