Gramatica Released

Say goodbye to Martin Gramatica, according to bostonherald.com the Patriots released today. That leaves one kicker left, Rookie Stephen Gostkowski. We need him to step up this year and over achieve rookie expectations. Here is a few words Gostkowski had to say……

“I’m not getting scholarship checks anymore,” he said. “I could get cut. It’s not like if I get sat down I can still get my free education. So in that sense there’s a little bit more pressure, but pressure usually helps good players do better, and that’s what I’m trying to become, a good player.”

“It’s exciting,” he said. “It’s still only my second NFL game, but it’s exciting even after practice, just knowing that I’m here. We won the game, I felt good about my performance, and I can’t wait to get out there again.”

“A 50-yard field goal is a 50-yard field goal,” he said. “You move back five yards on kickoffs. Otherwise it’s the same preparation and techniques. Maybe there’s more on the line, but that’s it.”
